Weird news - Man spies on his wife at home, using cameras

Believing your partner to be unfaithful is one of the most common reasons for divorces, as well as violence inside the home. A marriage is a coming together of people, but it does not mean that a person totally loses all their rights, including a right to privacy. Won't it feel creepy when you get to know that every action of yours is getting recorded by the spouse who wants to find some evidence of your disloyalty; and this is even more so when there are already tensions in the house.
In this case, the man believed that his wife was cheating on him, and had installed a number of spy cameras inside the house, trying to catch his wife cheating on him in some way, and when she detected the cameras, she was horrified (link to article):

Police said around 2pm on Tuesday, when Mahendran was out on duty, Kamala found a few spy cameras "hidden in different objects," in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Shocked, she confronted Mahendran about it when he returned home but was allegedly insulted. Kamala then decided to seek divorce but Mahendran refused and said he was ready to talk, police said.On Wednesday, Kamala lodged a complaint with the Ambattur police who registered a case under Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act and IPC Sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 290 (punishment for public nuisance).
Police said Mahendran allegedly suspected the fidelity of his wife and often ill treated her. The couple frequently quarrelled over trivial issues and after the confrontation on Tuesday "Kamala said she would live separately and went away," a police officer said. However, Mahendran convinced her and brought her home the same day, the officer said. The couple have a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.

Weird news - Camera captures murderer just at the time of the murder

How likely is that a camera will capture the scene of a murder just before the actual murder happens ? And that too, when the person who is being killed is actually taking the photo. Imagine the shock, you take a photo, really don't notice that somebody is pointing a gun at you, and then just after the photo is taken, you get shot and eventually die ? The family of the murdered person however saw this photo, and sent this photo to the police; based on this photo, the police found the killer along with the accomplice. However, such a scenario happening is very unlikely, and the murdered must be ruing his luck (link to article):

A murdered Philippine politician caught his killer on camera just moments before he was shot dead, with the photograph leading to the arrest of the suspected gunman, police said today. The photograph, taken by district councillor Reynaldo Dagsa and distributed by his family to media, shows his relatives posing outside their home while a gunman in the background appears to aim a pistol at the victim.
The family gave the photograph to the police, leading to the arrest on Monday of the gunman as well as a suspected accomplice, he said. The alleged killer is shown in the photograph wearing a reversed baseball cap just behind Dagsa's daughter, wife and mother-in-law, who were apparently unaware of the alleged assailant's presence.

Eye-Fi card tracks down camera thief

This is a story seemingly out of science fiction, but in reality happened. People unfortunately have a recurring tendency to forget their belongings; remember the times when somebody claimed that they lost their laptop or phone in the cab or train, or left the purse or wallet in the restaurant / hotel. By the time you remember, it is too late, it is only rarely that you get your belonging back. And of course, if it has been stolen, then the chances of getting it back is almost nil.
Well, here is a case where the camera that was stolen (and from which previous personal photos had not yet been retrieved) phoned back through the medium of the Eye-Fi card and even sent back photos of the thieves (the precious personal photos were also sent back). This happened through some coincidences, but is still remarkable:

Here's a new use for the Eye-Fi wireless SD card that we hadn't considered: A virtual private eye. Eye-Fi user Alison DeLauzon lost $1,000 worth of photo gear while on holiday in Florida. The Eye-Fi SD card, once plugged into your camera, hooks up to the internet and sends your photos to either an online sharing site or directly back to your home machine. In this case it was the latter, and the hapless thief not only sent the precious vacation shots back to Alison's computer, but -- according to the email we received from Gadget Lab reader Joe Volat -- "pictures [of] the thieves proudly displaying Alison's lifted camera equipment."
