Weird news - Happiest day, but then crown jewels shot off

In many parts of the world, marriages are celebrated with firing in the air, or rather, firing of revolver, pistols, etc. And we are not talking about rival mob hits, but actual shootings by friends and relatives of the groom (in most cases, this is done from the groom's side). Now, when you fire bullets, they will go somewhere, and they end up hurting many bystanders. There have been numerous cases where bullets fired during celebratory firing have hit other guests and even killed some people (tragic when people have come to the place to celebrate the marriage). However, this case is weird where the bullet actually hit the groom in the genitals, doing damage to a vital organ, and that too at the time of marriage (link to article):
An Egyptian groom will have to live a life remembering he was shot in his genitals. An over-excited friend shot the groom in his genitals at the bachelor party. Groom Omar al-Alsaied, 28, was taken to a hospital. Talking about the genital-killer friend's excitement, the dude was firing celebratory shots but zeal made him forget to aim the gun upwards. Omar, who is still a bachelor, suffered serious wounds to his testicles, thigh and hand.

Weird news - Poo bomb from plane crashes into house

Planes fly at very high altitudes, and as a result, if something falls from a plane, it can reach a high speed when falling down and hence can be very dangerous if somebody is below the falling object. At the same time, planes are closed objects, with the chance of something falling from planes being rare. However, once in a while, incidents are reported, such as this case (if it is true). A couple in their house hear a loud noise, and think it is some incident (car accident) outside. However, they don't see anything outside and instead find a hole in their roof, and a seven inch chunk of ice on their lawn.
The lump of frozen urine and faeces is the component of this ice, and this sounds so icky, that a collection of wastes from people in a flight overhead made its way down to their house and caused them damage. The chance of something happening like this is very rare, and it is tricky for them to convince the insurance company that this damage to their house is because of this reason (link to article):
Keith Mead, 70, and his wife Ruth, 67, heard a loud bang and rushed outside thinking there had been a car accident. But they were surprised when they saw a hole in their roof and found the seven-inch long chunk of ice on the lawn. The lump of frozen urine and faeces, which was seven inches long and weight more than a pound, had fallen from a jet about 30,000 feet overhead after being flushed from a toilet on the plane, they claim. Mead bagged up the ice ball and put it in his freezer to show insurance assessors who visited that day. "It was just as if someone had crashed into our house. I looked up and there was a gaping hole where a large lump of ice had impacted the roof," he said.

Weird news - Imagine a cow landing on car bonnet

In odd stories, one has heard of storm systems picking up all sorts of living creatures over the water and then dumping them as part of rain over land. So, from time to time, people see a rain of fish, or even eels. It is surprising, but there has been a scientific explanation, and even though it can be shocking for fish or some other such creatures to land among you, it typically does not have the potential to hurt you (would be a different matter if a shark or a crocodile was picked up and then landed near you - but it is hard to pick up such heavy creatures and carry them for long distances).
But one thing somebody driving on the road would never have expected would be seeing a flying cow (or a cow falling from the skies) and landing on top of the bonnet. A cow is heavy enough that it would be fatal for the cow to land like this, but it also has the risk of causing grave injury or even death if such a cow was to land on somebody. In this case, it was not a flying cow or some storm, but a cow falling off a cliff-side but by coincidence, landing on the bonnet of a car passing by. The impact of the cow was such that it killed the cow, and caused damage to the car (but the people in the car escaped any injury) (link to article):
A man driving in France met with a bizarre accident in which a cow fell on his car’s bonnet. The incident happened when he was driving with his stepson through the Pyrenees mountains near Perthus on the border with Spain. While the father-son duo had a narrow escape after the 500 kg animal crash landed on the car, the cow did not survive the impact. The car which was badly damaged, was halted abruptly.

Weird news - Man gets huge damages for being poked in the eye by a lap dancer

When ladies wear high heels, doctors normally always state that wearing these high heels can cause damage to the leg structure of these ladies and cause a lot of pain. And yet, the needs for glamour and fashion over-rule any health reasons for doing so. At the same time, these high heels with their sharp points can be very harmful (if you have ever been stepped on by such a lady and felt the tip of the heel, it can be very painful). But what happens when something as embarrassing as being hit in the head by a lap dancer in a club by her high heels, and hard enough to be seriously hurt (link):

A South Florida man is $650,000 richer after successfully suing a strip club, having been injured when a lap dancer poked him in the eye with a stiletto (heel). Michael Ireland was left with a punctured eye socket, broken facial bones and permanent double vision after the 2008 incident at the Cheetah club in West Palm Beach.
Added to this, the club boss told local media Rod Kimbrough said the dancer Sakeena Shageer, a "very nice, young small girl", had reacted instinctively after being smacked on the buttocks by a patron unknown. "A patron violently slapped the young woman on her buttocks and she was walking around the top of the bar and I guess out of a natural response she turned around and kicked him." However, Ireland and his attorneys pressed on, and yesterday the club elected to settle rather than go through the hassle of a court case.

Parents locked 12 year girl into closet for an year

Parents are supposed to be the ones responsible for ensuring the development of their children, for educating them; so it becomes very difficult if the parents themselves are responsible for preventing the growth of the child, or for creating a set of circumstances in which the child cannot develop. In such cases, society has to step in, and ensure that the child is separated from the parents and placed in better circumstances.
In this case as well, where this girl was allowed to go to school, but when home, she would have to stay in a closet; and she was the only child on whom this restriction was placed while her brothers were free. The amount of psychological damage this does to a child can be immense (link to article):

Police officers say a young girl was kept locked away in a closet in a West Brownsville duplex by her parents for about a year. She attended school every day and held steady grades, but once she was home she was not allowed to watch television or play with her brothers, investigators said. The 12-year-old girl had to stay inside the closet.
No one would have known of the abuse, police officers said, if one of her brothers had not reported it to officials at his school, which initiated an investigation by Child Protective Services. “Everyone in the house knew what was going on, but you have children, who based on fear, hold this secret,” Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique, Brownsville Police Department spokesman, said.
